I remodeled my house with this drill

I bought this solely for one very important screw in a tight spot that I'd wasted hours on with other tools--the Milwaukee worked first try. It's now my favorite tool. It never let me down in eight months of remodeling my house. I never felt the need to buy another cordless drill, not even a conventional-shape one. It's tiny, quiet, and has surprising power. For me the battery typically lasted anywhere from several days to several weeks, unless I was using it constantly. I got in the habit of not worrying about charging it at night, and being surprised when the battery finally did discharge. No problem--take an early lunch and it will be fully charged again in an hour.

I love the LED light, which you can easily activate without turning the drill if you want to line things up in a dark space before you start. I also like the fact that it clearly has been designed for one-handed use in tight spots while hanging off of a ladder. You can activate the drill from a variety of different hand positions. If you forgot to change the rotation direction, you can often reach that switch with your little finger without having to move the drill off the spot.

A couple of times I couldn't fit my corded right-angle half-inch drill in a tight spot. This tiny Milwaukee drill strained, but was able to get a 3/4-inch auger bit through two inches of aged hard lumber. I wouldn't want to push this little drill that hard all the time, but it's nice to know it will work in a pinch.

It does not have as much power as I would have liked, but it does almost everything I want it to.

Very good tool. Plenty power for around the house requirements. Horribly deficient use directions. At this price it should come WITH basic bits.

Handy tool with plenty or torque but misleading directions

I bought this to replace my venerable Makita 9v right angle. I find it to be much nicer, and in a way, I'm glad I lost the Makita. I'm a marine electrician which means that I'm frequently working in confined spaces with little or no light. The led light on this is a real blessing. The chuck works great and grips bits snugly. The motor has plenty of torque, as long as you have realistic expectations. It isn't intended to replace a high voltage 1/2" drill. So use it for what it is intended for and I think you'll be very pleased.

I have only a couple of criticisms. The first is that, like other reviewers, I find the electronic torque adjustment to be less than ideal. Basically I don't trust it and if something needs fine torque control I'll do the final snugging up by hand.

The second problem is the lack of documentation about the led light and overload indicator. The product description states that the drill has led illumination lights, plural. The drill appears to have two leds on the underside behind the chuck. However only one led lit up. Thinking I had a defective unit, I sent it back to Amazon for replacement. (Huge kudos to Amazon in that they cross shipped the replacement unit!) When the replacement drill showed the same symptom I call Milwaukee tech support. It turns out that there is only one white illumination led. The second led is a red one the only lights if you overload the drill. Proper documentation would have saved me grief and Amazon and Milwaukee money.

question about the led

When i look at the drill it looks as if it has 2 led bulbs. But only one on the left side (tool facing you) works when you press the trigger. Has anyone else noticed this has only 1 light. I called Milwauke and they showed me the wire diagram and they say it only has 1 bulb..
